Hello over the past few weeks I have been working on the narrative game. The main things I have added were a close range attack for the enemy, a enemy spawner for the gameplay part, house interactions for the first part of the game and I recorded voice lines for the character Timmy.
Firstly added a close range attack for the enemy. If the player gets too close to an enemy, the enemy will try to hit the player with a dagger. If the dagger hits the player it will damage the player. The reason for adding a close range attack for the enemy was that the enemy would have trouble shooting the player if the player was too close. The enemy's aim would be messed up and the enemy would always shoot over the player.
Sticking with the theme of enemies, I added a enemy spawner to the game. The enemy spawner is used in the gameplay part of the game where Theodore has to fight demons in his garden. The spawner will continuously spawn enemies until either Theodore has taken too much damage from the enemies or if there are no more enemies to spawn in. If one of these things happen that will mean that it is time to progress to the next cutscene.
The next thing I added was the code for interactions around the house. Around the house Theodore will be able to interact with stuff in his house. Interacting with things in his house will play a voice line. This was added to the game to allow the player a reason to explore and look around the house. A objective text was also added to the game so the player will know what they have to do to progress in the game.
The final thing I did for the game was record some voice lines for the character Timmy. Timmy is the child of Theodore and Isabelle. To make my voice sound younger I raised the pitch of my voice in the software audacity. The voice lines can be found in the group box folder.
